Dontation 2009

Dear Mrs. Laurent,
... would you also consider whether there are parts of his correspondence with artists and other documents of the times that you could commit to the trust of our Study and Documentation Centre for Flemish music. Here, they would not only be kept and preserved, but also analyzed and made accessible to the public. This is something we consider particularly important because Jean Laurent was one of the last relevant representatives of the extinct Belgian Violin School. "  ....

Doyen Pascale De Groote
Koninklijk Conservatoire, 12 November 2008

„Dear Mrs. Laurent,
... The collection you have set up actually is a revealing contribution to the history of violin playing in the 20th century, in which connection the link to the Antwerp Conservatoire of course is also of importance to us." ...

Persons interested can inspect these sources and use them for research purposes there. Attached, you can find an overview of the inheritance. You can also find some excerpts from these letters under DOCUMENTS on this homepage.
